Dear Friends and Community Partners,
The Tacoma Chapter of the A. Philip Randolph Institute was formed in 2003 to help connect community, labor, and faith partners to work together to achieve racial, social, and economic justice. Typically, we host a Pastors’ breakfast with Faith leaders, participate in African American Legislative Day in Olympia, share information about job opportunities and training and apprenticeship programs, and participate in several community projects. We offer a food & Resource Market twice a month. Operating with donations, volunteers, and partners we work with other organizations to help feed, and provide clothing, and housing resources to the most vulnerable in our community. Our newest project has been outreaching to seniors, many of who live in assisted living facilities, and/or who have been adversely affected by the pandemic.
Because of the restrictions of COVID-19, we have had to cancel all of our in-person events for the last two years, including our annual fundraising banquet. The support and financial sponsorship of our partners are more critical than ever. We have been designated by the IRS as a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization – EIN 02-0689669. Your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent as allowed by law. We have no paid staff, so every dollar goes toward our programs.
